I spent one whirlwind day, december 21st to be exact, in the city with the highest seat of government in the world, La PAz, Bolivia.

El Tigre River Boat

  It's been a while since I made my last post, and it has been a while since I left Buenos Aires so bear with me people. Im trying to do all of this through internet cafes, but now that I am in lovely seaside Valparaiso in a very nice hostel, I can afford to update my blog.

To begin with, my backlog from a few weeks ago:

On my last Thursday in Buenos Aires, I decided to go to El Tigre, a town on the river deltas north of Bs.As.
As if it were fate, as I took out my camera to take my first picture of the town my battery died on me. Convieniently, that very moment I heard some familiar sounding English speakers and I ran into two very kind Canadians with to very fine cameras who live in Toronto!
Lots of thanks to Brian Mulroney and Randy Fulton for providing me with some of the photos they took on our river outing! 

Would that I were born in the days of Mississippi steamboats. Or anywhere with a lively river and few tourists!

Off we went for 150 pesos. A 2 hour boat ride that would eventually drop us right in Buenos Aires after lovely scenery.

5 pesos will get you 10 this gangsta is smuggling arms in that cabinet!

The river isnt dirty people, its just silty.

People in glass houses should not throw stones.

We passed by Domingo Faustino Sarmiento's house.

 Above, left I am asking the muchacho who worked on the boat for a mate, so I could show the Canadians on the boat the most patriotically Argentinian drink, Mate. Don't go to Argentina without trying it! Its a students best friend, keeps you focussed while studying, with out the caffeine jitters that keep you from getting to sleep. Above right is me enjoying the lazy river cruise :)

Officially added windsurfing to my bucket list that day.

With a city of 12 million people, its kind of tough to capture the whole coast.

What the Buenos Aires skyline lacks in height, it makes up for in length. Seriously.

First Climb in the Andes

San Telmo Market PT. II

It was a cloudy day for exploring, but at least the city turns into a village for sundays.

  Most barrios in Buenos Aires have open air-markets every Sunday, as well as an abundance of street performers. This is the second post describing my wanderings around the San Telmo neighbourhood to enjoy what most travel guides tell me is an absolute necessary Sunday event in the city.

Daily Special: Some cut of Pork that I forget, papas frites with chimichurry and "salsa"

   Started my day with a typically large-portioned lunch special in a decent restaurant in San Telmo, forget the name of the place too. I really should be taking more food pictures, but the nice meals usually come with wine, and after that so much red meat and wine, who can be bothered to make sure they dont lose their camera?

James Bond would approve.

 The decor was nice in this place, and now for something completely different: Went to see SkyFall in theatres here, cero cero siete never fails to entertain.

 Ive took a decent video of this scene, but uploading it is proving more difficult than I thought. Should have lowered the video quality while I was recording. Oh well, Im working on it.
